Excimer Laser is a UV laser with a wavelength of 193 nm, obtained by electrical stimulation of the argon-fluoride gas mixture. It has been used in the treatment of eye refractive errors such as myopia, astigmatism and hyperopia for almost 30 years all over the world.
Excimer Laser Treatment Methods
No Touch: It is a treatment method performed without touching the eye. First of all, corneal topography is taken to see the corneal thickness. Because it is a laser method which can be applied to patients with thin corneas. It is a treatment performed without removing the flap layer. As the flap layer is not removed;
Recovery time: 4-5 weeks.
Pain duration: 2 days (complaints of burning and stinging in the eye of the patient may take 2 days.)
İ-Lasik: This new technique, also named as femto-lasik, is one of the most important developments in refractive surgery. This is the method we apply after we take corneal topography and see sufficient corneal thickness of the patient.
By removing the flap layer with a laser, we make laser shots and eliminate the visual defects we call myopic-hyperopic-astigmatism.
As we removed the flap layer,
Recovery time: 2 weeks
Pain duration: Less than 5 hours
